Public participation: The public will be invited at several points in the meeting to offer comments on agenda items. General comments on the MLPA Initiative and the work of the MLPA Blue Ribbon Task Force, not directed to specific agenda items, will be taken on Thursday at approximately 1:00 p.m. Speaker cards will be requested and may be found at the entrance to the room.

Receive and discuss information regarding draft MPA proposals submitted for the MLPA North Central Coast Study Region, including MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team, California Department of Fish and Game, and MLPA staff analyses of the draft proposals
Receive summary of the methods used to evaluate MPA proposals
Receive updates on the activities of the Master Plan Science Advisory Team and North Central Coast Regional Stakeholder Group
Receive update on the State Interagency Coordinating Committee for Marine Managed Areas

Summary of the MLPA Initiative process and planning on the north central coast.

Overview of draft MPA proposals developed by both work groups of the regional stakeholder group and a group external to that process. Receive and discuss information regarding draft MPA proposals submitted for the MLPA North Central Coast Study Region, including MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team, California Department of Fish and Game, and MLPA staff analyses of the draft proposals
3.
Update on the activities of the Master Plan Science Advisory Team (SAT) and methods for evaluating MPA proposals. Receive summary of the methods used to evaluate MPA proposals. Receive updates on the activities of the Master Plan Science Advisory Team and North Central Coast Regional Stakeholder Group
4.
Presentation by the California Department of Fish and Game on the feasibility criteria and analysis
5.
Update on the California State Interagency Coordinating Committee for Marine Managed Areas. Receive update on the State Interagency Coordinating Committee for Marine Managed Areas

Meeting Objectives
Review, discuss and potentially adopt final north central coast regional goals and objectives
Receive detailed presentation of, review and provide feedback on draft MPA proposals submitted for the MLPA North Central Coast Study Region, including MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team (SAT), California Department of Fish and Game, and MLPA staff analyses of the draft proposals. Discuss levels of protection as adopted by the SAT and potentially determine which levels will be considered in the evaluation process. Identify and potentially approve additional staffing and resource needs of the initiative in the current phase and for completing other MLPA study regions. Further discuss ways in which the MLPA Initiative can assist the state with implementation of the central coast marine protected areas
